Nordic Approach and Tropiq are excited to announce that we are merging. Instead of sister companies, we’re creating a single entity that will unify our team, consolidate operations, enhance service offerings, and provide more diverse options to our valued customers.

Nordic Approach and Tropiq were both founded by Morten Wennersgaard, with each company catering to distinct market needs. Now, Tropiq will become a product line under the Nordic Approach umbrella. Together, we will continue sourcing and shipping high-quality coffees, specialising in high-scoring traceable lots, distinct flavour profiles, and unique processing methods.

What Changes for Roasters?

The quality of our products and the focus of our business will remain the same. Nordic Approach will continue to offer spot and forward booking options from our warehouses in Europe, while Tropiq will facilitate direct shipments from origin for high-quality coffees at scale.

The merger simply translates into expanded options and diverse purchasing avenues. Our new structure brings sourcing, logistics, and planning closer together. This integration enables us to elevate quality standards, offering increased flexibility in financing, warehousing, and logistics. No matter if you need a smashing microlot, a reliable filter coffee, or an espresso workhorse (or all three!), we’ve got you covered.

Nordic Approach: High-scoring coffee on the spot

Nordic Approach focuses on unique, high-scoring coffees available from our warehouses (‘on the spot’) in Europe, from the 10 origins we work in. Specialising in 86+ microlots and high-scoring traceable blends, Nordic Approach caters to micro-roasters, mid-size roasters, and larger roasters requiring any type of volume of 1+ bag.

Tropiq: Specialty at Scale

Tropiq is the go-to choice for medium to large specialty roasters seeking 100+ bags of full container loads under FOB terms. The team specialises in sourcing and procurement, focusing on all the groundwork at origin, shipping directly to your port of destination.

Direct shipments are currently available from 6 origins: Kenya, Ethiopia, Peru, Honduras, Brazil, and Colombia. Click here if you’d like to read more about Tropiq.

Somewhere in the middle? Forward Booking has you covered.

Many growing specialty roasters have the desire to plan 50, 100, or even more bags of high quality coffees — but they need to draw it down over a 6 month period. That’s where Forward Booking comes in. Now, we are able to plan these coffees even earlier, sourced directly and specifically for you, and brought to our main warehouse with financing and warehousing included for up to 6 months.

Consistency for Our Partners at Origin

We will continue to uphold our commitment to the relationships and frameworks established with our partners at origin, including farmers, cooperatives, and suppliers.

Moving forward, Nordic Approach will take on the role of the contracting party, while the purchasing team will remain unchanged, maintaining the same practices that have been in place for the past 12 years.

Merging Nordic Approach and Tropiq was the natural progression for us, as we have always operated as one, unified team. It represents a significant step forward in providing a comprehensive and versatile market solution and a more integrated supply chain.

We look forward to continuing working with you!
